Day 2: Sunday, June 29 - A BREAKFAST buffet is included at the hotel, before departing for LaSalle, IL for a CANAL BOAT RIDE and LUNCH. Take A Journey Back To The 1800s Picture it: 1848 Illinois. Prairie covers the state. Overland transportation is slow and treacherous. Only a few small communities exist, including a small port town on Lake Michigan called Chicago. Day 3: Monday, June 30 - Enjoy a Drury buffet BREAKFAST before departing for Sioux Falls, SD. Lunch on your own at Overlook Café overlooking Namesake Falls. This one-of-a-kind building has been "a-maize-ing" visitors for almost 100 years. Day 4: Tuesday, July 1 - A BREAKFAST buffet is included at the hotel, before departing for the DIGNITY STATUE in Chamberlain, SD. Dignity of Earth and Sky, also known as Dignity, is a 50-foot-tall stainless-steel sculpture of a Native American woman in Plains-style dress standing on a bluff above the Missouri River. https://www.travelsouthdakota.com/trip-ideas/story/dignity-earth-sky The next stop is Wall, SD nestled in the western part of the state. In 1931 Walls was known as “the geographical center of nowhere” and to compound the challenges, the Great Depression was taking hold. The rugged beauty of the Badlands has striking geologic deposits containing one of the world’s richest fossil beds. The park’s 244,000 acres protect an expanse of mixed-grass prairie where bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, and black-footed ferrets live today. We start at the BEN REIFEL VISITOR CENTER with a short movie and a Park Ranger will be available to answer questions. Day 5: Wednesday, July 2 - Enjoy a BREAKFAST buffet before a remarkable day of tours. The day starts with a CUSTER STATE PARK JEEP TOUR. This safari tour will take you off-road to private, interior dirt roads of the park. Trek through the park in an open-air jeep in search of pronghorns, elk, and buffalo. Along the way, your guide will share historical and educational facts about the park and wildlife, and help you spot the critters. The envisioned final dimensions include a 641-foot-long and 563-foot-high mountain carving, depicting Crazy Horse astride his horse with his arm outstretched pointing into the distance. The Crazy Horse Memorial is not only a tribute to the Lakota leader but also serves as a symbol of Native American culture, heritage, and perseverance. Day 6: Thursday, July 3 - Enjoy a BREAKFAST buffet before departing for Deadwood, SD. Our day starts with a one-hourNARRATED BUS TOUR of Deadwood and Mt. Moriah “Boot Hill” cemetery. Learn about the Ft. Laramie Treaty of 1868, the Gold Rush of 1874, tales of Jack McCall, and end with present-time history. Recount the legendary lives of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and more. Mt. Day 7: Friday, July 4 - A BREAKFAST buffet is included at the hotel, before departing Devil’s Tower Monument in Devil’s Tower, WY. DEVIL'S TOWER, located in northeastern Wyoming, Rises abruptly from the surrounding landscape, reaching a height of 867 feet above the Belle Fourche River. Departing Yellowstone National Park we enter the Grand Teton National Park. Day 11: Tuesday, July 8 - We start our day with a BREAKFAST buffet before another highlight of this tour. Enjoy a 13-mile FLOAT TRIP. “Cruise through the Snake River Range and the Gros Ventre Range in a comfortable, secure ride. The Tetons and Snake River views along the way are magnificent, so bring your camera—you may spot a moose wading in a back eddy or an osprey diving in the river beneath the snow-capped Tetons. This 13-mile Scenic Float is a section that is west of the town of Jackson, nestled between the Grand Teton National Park and the Bridger Teton National Forest. Day 12: Wednesday, July 9 - BREAKFAST buffet before departing for CRAIG THOMAS DISCOVERY AND VISITOR CENTER, where you can find engaging exhibits on the park's natural history, geology, and wildlife. The center also offers stunning panoramic views of the Teton Range and serves as a great introduction to the park's vast landscapes https://www.nps.gov/grte/planyourvisit/ctdvc.htm. Additional stops will be at the following TETON GLACIER TURNOUT for an impressive view of the Teton Glacier. This viewpoint provides a close look at one of the few remaining glaciers in the park, nestled high on the slopes of the Grand Teton. It’s an excellent spot for photography and appreciating the rugged beauty of the range. CATHEDRAL GROUP TURNOUT offers breathtaking views of some of the tallest peaks in the Teton Range, including Grand Teton, Mount Owen, and Teewinot Mountain. These iconic peaks are known as the Cathedral Group due to their towering, spire-like formations. This stop is perfect for capturing the dramatic scenery and understanding the park’s geological grandeur. At the MOUNT MORAN TURNOUT, you'll have the chance to view the striking Mount Moran, which rises to an elevation of over 12,600 feet. Known for its distinctive black dike, this peak is a favorite among geologists and photographers alike. The turnout provides a scenic backdrop and a moment to appreciate the park's diverse geological features. Concluding our stops at OXBOW BEND TURNOUT, one of the most photographed spots in Grand Teton National Park. This location offers a serene view of the Snake River with Mount Moran reflected in its calm waters. It’s a prime spot for wildlife viewing, especially for spotting moose, eagles, and other birds. RIVERBOAT - Cruise through time on the Mighty Mississippi. Travel through time on a replica 19th-century paddle-wheel riverboat. Day or night, the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch offer stunning skyline views that have been voted Best in St. Louis. Brought to the St. Louis riverfront in 1964, the Tom Sawyer was originally used to take curious sightseers out on the river to view the construction of the Gateway Arch.

Itinerary:
Full itineraries will be emailed about 1 week prior to departure day. information will include all departure times and locations as well as the name and cell number of your tour representative.
Additional Information:
We will have water available underneath the bus for everyone. You may bring a small cooler on the bus to fit at your seat. This tour does involve walking and not all surfaces are smooth. Stops will be made every 2 1/2 -3 hours.
