Day 1: Depart Lancaster at approximately 6:30 A.M. with a made-to-order Breakfast included as we travel to the Best Western Hotel in Allen Park, Michigan https://www.bestwestern.com/hotels-in-allen-park/best-western-greenfield-inn our home for the next 2 nights. Welcome Dinner is included in the hotel restaurant. A Michigan representative will meet us and provide a “Made in Michigan” treat bag for everyone and Sander’s Bumpy Cake for dessert. Hotel amenities include a fitness center, indoor heated pool, steam room, business center, on-site restaurant, and bar. Guest rooms feature a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and television. The remainder of the evening on your own.

Day 2: Breakfast buffet included at the hotel, before departing for the Ford Rouge Factory Tour Walk through the Legacy Gallery and Electric Vehicle Display, and look back at the iconic vehicles manufactured at the Rouge complex, all while looking ahead to automaking’s electric future. Take a seat in our Legacy Theater to learn more about the history of Ford Motor Company. Feel the force of modern engineering in the multisensory Manufacturing Innovation Theater. Travel up to the observation deck for sweeping views of the historic Rouge Complex and one of the world’s largest living roofs. Day 4: Breakfast buffet included at the hotel, before departing for St. Ignace to cross the Mighty Mac Bridge, which serves as the gateway to the Upper Peninsula where the great waters of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet. https://www.mackinacbridge.org/history/the-mighty-mac. A Step-on-Guide will board the bus to give us the history as we cross the bridge. Here, you board a ferry that transports you to Mackinac Island to enjoy a slower pace of life much like that of the 19th century due to the notable absence of automobiles. Visitors and residents make their way between the quaint cafes, its charming boutique shops, and the magnificent coastline on foot, by way of bicycles, or horse-drawn carriage. Upon arrival on Mackinac Island, you will have time to stroll down Main Street and enjoy lunch on your own. Day 5: Breakfast included this morning before you set out on a fascinating horse-drawn carriage tour of Mackinac Island. Enjoy history and charm on your narrated carriage tour as you see the Surrey Museum, Arch Rock, Fort Mackinac Avenue of Flags and more. Following the carriage tour, lunch is included at the legendary Grand Hotel. The Grand has been welcoming guests since 1887, and even today continues to offer its visitors a memorable experience of a bygone era full of old-world hospitality and splendor. Day 6: Wake to breakfastincluded once again this morning before you pack up and depart on a ferry ride to return to Mackinaw City, MI. Next, we travel to Cheboygan Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Cheboygan, MI. Enjoy the stunning views of the area on a professionally guided shipwreck glass bottom boat tour! Take a cruise down the Cheboygan River, under the drawbridge, and past three lighthouses. From there we cruise into Lake Huron around the 14′ Shoal Light and into Duncan Bay over three shallow water shipwrecks. The group will be divided into 2 groups. Half the group will have lunch at a local restaurant and half will take the boat ride and then switch https://nauticalnorthfamilyadventures.com. Next, we depart for Hillman, MI for an overnight stay at Thunder Bay Resort. Guest room amenities include a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and television. A special evening is planned with the resort's award-winning Elk Viewing Carriage Ride.
